Summary
When everyone found out that Izuku was quirkless, Katsuki was furious… at first. The two fell out, yeah, but it only lasted a few months.
When Katsuki saw some of those extras that followed him attacking Deku, HIS Deku, he snapped. His body moved on its own, and he found himself punching, screaming, and blasting them until they ran off. Izuku looked up with tears streaming down his face, shocked.
Katsuki placed a hand on his knee as he bent down to help Izuku up. “Don’t listen to a word they say, Deku. You’re still gonna be a hero. I’ll make sure of it.” Katsuki pulled the smaller boy up before lightly punching his arm. “Not as good as me, obviously. You can settle for number two.”
Izuku giggled wetly and hesitantly countered, “We’ll see, Kachan. If you’re helping me, then I’ll surpass even you someday!”
Katsuki scoffed and led the way back to his house. “Yeah, I’d like to see you try!”

Izuku just wanted to do this one last patrol with Bubble Girl to finish up his work study requirements with the Nighteye Agency, maybe go and visit Eri in the hospital afterwards. He didn't anticipate a fight with a villain willing to dose themselves with Trigger.
He didn't anticipate the villain having a temporal quirk.
And he definitely didn't anticipate having to join his homeroom and English teachers in their second year at U.A.
When the only way home is the long way, Izuku has to learn how to survive, how to keep his secrets, and how to guard his heart.

Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it.
But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.
Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.
