Summary
EDDIE doesn’t know why the program is getting more meat to chew up and spit out by the newest Jaeger Mark; the rookies are showing more promise and far less stubbornness. Eddie’s going to prove his own point, though, even if that means having to be nice to Jaeger pilots, and maybe opening a bit more about himself and how he ended up in the Hong Kong Shatterdome.
TOMMY understands Evan’s paranoia about their compatibility, and the invitation from Hong Kong to show their stuff to be pilots for a new Mark of Jaeger seemed like a perfect opportunity for them. Tommy knew they were going to be tested, pushed, and pulled, especially with a category of Kajiu looming. Tommy just didn’t know his test would be called Eddie.
BUCK had paced the floors of the Los Angeles Shatterdome to polish by the time he, Tommy, and Maddie moved to the Hong Kong Shatterdome. Buck was ready for new dynamics, but the rift between pilots and staff was a shock. Buck himself tastes the brunt of it, and after some pretty bad footing, Buck finds the steadiness with some help and a petty charge nurse.

Buck plans his goodbye…only a certain angel stops him, 'borrows' him, hands him the Winchester-patented starter's guide to hunting manual, and gives him purpose again. Too bad that angel was so busy saving Buck, they forgot about the goodbye letters left in the loft.
