It all starts with Eddie having a terrible month, missing his uncle on a sad and lonely Christmas Eve, and a card sent on a whim to a stranger now living in his childhood home.
Somehow, it ends with Eddie spending New Year's in the arms of Steve, the unbelievably sweet man who received his card and made it his mission to find Eddie via the power of the internet.
In the middle of it all, the winter holidays come and go, but the story isn't about that; it's about life that keeps on going between the cracks of holiday cheer. In the eight months they’d been together, the only times they were apart were when Eddie had shoots out of town. It was depressing being without him. Having Chrissy around helped ease some of the loneliness, and he talked on the phone with Eddie any chance he got, but cells were rarely allowed on set, so their conversations were either short or isolated to morning and night. When he checked his phone, he smiled at the enthusiastic greeting.
