Will couldn't read the expression on Mike’s face, hell he could barely look at him. Tears began to actually leak out of his eyes and all he could do is slowly nod his head. “I am so sorry Mike, I just couldn’t bring myself to ever tell you. As much as I wanted to, I was afraid to ruin our friendship. But it’s okay. I will get over this crush. It was really about me learning to accept myself anyway. I see that now. Please don’t be mad.”
Will was trying to calm himself. That was the truth right? Self acceptance. Will was looking down, fidgeting with his hands when Mike’s next words came out and Will’s head shot up so fast he was pretty sure he’d have whiplash.

Summary
After Will chained new powers extracted from Vecna, he started experiencing possession as if he was being controlled. He could not break free from the curse, since young he always had a connection to the hive mind in the upside down. He is constantly being consumed by control. Shivering, repulsing in agony, he is slowly merging into the hive mind, becoming the first vein connection to Vecna.
They couldn’t bear to see him like this.
Mike, sitting at the couch as gaze upon Will’s unconscious, motionless body. is terrified, afraid, mostly worried— worried that he might not get him back from Vecna, worried that this time, it will be harder to free him from control, worried that he might lose Will, again.

“Yeah, in DND Will, not real life.” Mike groans, stretching out across the smooth marble island. He smiles a little at Will bringing up his DND character. He hasn't let himself remember DND since Eddie. “In real life I’m… not. I always run away when I’m scared.”
"That's not true. You stayed with me when I was possessed by the Mind Flayer, remember?”
Mike says too quickly, “You’re not scary.”
“Not even when I’m being controlled like a puppet by an interdimensional shadow monster?”
He says it like it’s funny, but Mike doesn’t think it’s something he can laugh about. He sits up, catching Will’s gaze with his. Mike’s eyes flick between the two black eyes before he says,
“Never.”

"“W-what happened?” Will asks, and sure enough, through his watery gaze Mike sees that same thing he’s heard in Will’s voice, or better, doesn’t see, because it’s an absence, an emptiness, even if Mike can’t quite pinpoint it. Something is still wrong.
“Oh honey, you went in a trance for a moment there, scared us to death. But you fought, you fought that vicious monster, and now you’re back,” Joyce explains, her voice soft.
Will frowns, the confusion in his gaze deepening. “What? What monster?” He asks, and Mike’s knees tremble. Something is very wrong.
“Vecna,” Mike replies before he can stop himself, and Will’s gaze finally turns to him.
And there’s nothing there. Will’s expression as he gazes at his best friend is… blank.
“Who are you?” Will asks, and the world comes crashing down on Mike."Will uses his powers to save his friends, and Vecna strikes back. When he wakes up, he doesn't remember anything about Vecna and the Upside Down, and he doesn't remember Mike. Mike is crushed, but he could never give up on Will. So he helps him get his memories back, and put an end to this evil once and for all.

Heavy breaths break through the loud ringing in his ears. He knows they’re his, but they sound as if they should belong to another. His pale hands tremble as they grasp the rough pavement he’s trying to push himself up from. He barely registers the spikes of pain as he gets on his feet. No, he’s focused on something so much more important. The ringing in his ears and the pain in his shoulder don’t even compare to the sight of Will, just feet away.
What if Stranger Things followed that document with the cut plotlines? What if Will did go to Camazotz and everything was different?
Okay, this was published before, but I rewrote some of this chapter and added a ton of stuff. Also, I know that the document is not true, I don't care it. This is my take on that.

And Mike cut him, quickly, before his courage could turn into regret. “No, uh– I meant— just you and me.”
Will forgot how to breath. And even though he could swear his heart stopped working, it sent all of his blood straight to his cheeks, now tinted with a noticeable pink blush. “Oh.” it’s what he managed to say.
The signs… turned a snowball into an avalanche.
And just as Robin’s talk reminded him, Mike continued talking.

It's been three years since the start of the zombie apocalypse and Mike is finally returning home. He discovers that not only is he not the sole survivor of Hawkins, but that his friends and sister are alive, too. As he begins to reconnect with them, the tension between them begins to increase, and Mike doesn't know how long he can stay with them.
Because while some of the group are more than happy to have him around, others don't like the company he keeps...
