Basically: Genshin Impact archon quests but if Kaeya joined you in your journeys. This fic is born out of my keen longing for characters actually canonically joining your party and experiencing the world alongside you- but specifically Kaeya because that would be like 500 christmases rolled into one. I love my man so much . my one wish in life is to have kaeya content forever in Genshin ough............

A brand of molten iron is being melted into his shoulder blade and his knees buck slightly underneath him. Warm, so warm, the traveler directs a confused look at Xiao until the others land on the Chamber.
You’re leaving, please don’t leave-- I can’t breathe. The traveler lets go and it is agonizing. The heat leaves, and he is cold again instantly, the chill like icy frost. I’m so cold, please come back.
Xiao shivers in the rain, staring blankly at the traveler. He turns back, grinning oh-so brightly at Xiao. “Thank you for saving me, Xiao.” It hurts, it hurts so bad. Come back.
The voices are a chill that flows from Xiao's brain all the way down his body in waves of frostbite. He's used to them, and they'll never go away. No matter what he's tried.
