Jon's got his job teaching high schoolers literature, Martin's working at a small diner, and they've even got a cat! Sure, Jon complains about having to help a coworker run an AV Club at a middle school, but at heart he's glad that's the 'worst' part of his job.

Summary
It's the late 1700's, Eleanor "Eleven" Brenner lives with her father, Dr. Brenner and their housemaid Joyce, with her son Will. Eleanor's father has become distant and verbally abusive, leaving Eleanor distraught. Her only comfort she finds is with her only mother figure Joyce, and her practically brother, Will. Everything is going down hill in her family, but even more so when mysterious creatures begin to wreak havoc through their town. Joyce pleads for Will and Eleanor to leave, to escape the tragedy that has be fallen them.
Will and Eleanor barely escape the monster attack and attempt to figure out what to do. They decide their only hope for escape is to pass voyage on a ship, however, ships won't let a woman aboard. So, Eleanor cuts her hair and dresses in Will's old clothes, where she tries to pass as a boy.
Upon arriving to the harbor, they manage to make passage on the H.M.S Hawk, controlled by none other than Captain Hopper. Will and Eleanor soon meet fellow ship boys Dustin, Lucas and Mike.
Eleanor has an immediate pull towards Mike, as she tries to hide her true self, she faces love, friendship and bad blood on the ship. While Mike tries to figure out his growing feelings towards, "Elliot". -

“Enough, both of you!” Hopper roared. He snatched the bat from Steve’s hand and pointed it towards the house. “Inside. Now.” Steve looked like he wanted to protest for a moment, but instead, he took the gift that was offered. He wiped a hand under his nose and turned, jogging towards the house.
Hopper held out his hand to Billy and pulled him to his feet.
“What’s your name?”
“Billy. Billy Hargrove.”
“Okay Billy Hargrove, here’s what is going to happen. You’re going to get into your car and leave. Whatever is going on between you and Harrington, it’s over. Understood?”
