As they are trying to escape from a mission gone wrong (thanks, Ranpo-san), Atsushi and Akutagawa enter one of Poe's novel's - written for Ranpo to escape dangerous situations like the one they are in. Atsushi is sure as soon as they solve the mystery in the book, they will be home free.
Except now, they solved the mystery, but are still stuck in a giftless universe where they work normal person jobs, and even worse, are dating.
To actually escape the book, they'll have to answer a different question - how long will it take the two stubborn boys to admit that they just might have feelings for one another?
An enemies-to-lovers, novel AU where they might not hate each other as much as they think they do.

Something is missing from Yokohama. Dazai is a writer and happens to hit writer's block, so, like any other writer fighting this problem, he goes out to find new inspiration. Only problem is that he has found a frail child.
Preview: On a random day in October, Dazai sat at his messy desk. There was a blank sheet of paper lying on the desk in front of him, but he couldn’t even think of a title for a story. He sighs and leans back in his chair, dropping the pencil on the desk. After a few minutes of just sitting there in silence, Dazai gives up and stood before beginning to roll on the ground as he tried to brainstorm ideas. He even attempts to try a new creative exercise he found online to get his brain going, but that didn't work either. Finally, an idea hits him, and he rushes back to his desk and picks up the pencil.

Akutagawa’s hand slipped lower. His belt unbuckled with terrifying precision, the cool slide of fingers against heated skin making Atsushi jolt and gasp outright. The sensation burned and thrilled all at once, pleasure spiking up his spine. He bit back a noise, clutching harder at Akutagawa’s shoulders, and then—
“Is everything okay here?” A voice rang down the hall, closer with each step. “Heard something loud!”
They broke apart like they’d been burned, scrambling so fast it was a miracle neither of them cracked their skulls on the wall. Atsushi caught on the edge of his half-unbuckled pants and went down hard, landing with a graceless thump that knocked the breath out of him.
Which left him on his ass. Directly in front of Akutagawa. Face level with — oh god.
“He tripped and fell,” Akutagawa said flatly, the picture of deadpan denial.
