It was a little exaltation caused Neville to look up from his sketching. His blue eyes met bright green ones as he took in Harry Potter. It had been years since he had seen the man up close. He was still the same, small wiry-framed man, only now he was greying at the temples. He was dressed casually in light flannel, worn jeans and trainers. A little flush decorated his cheeks. Neville usually had a good amount of time in the morning to sketch the particular flora that grew naturally near the greenhouses. Especially now, given that the term was over. Neville had been looking forward to the early quiet hours now that the students had all gone home. What he hadn’t expected was for the newly minted Defense Against the Dark Arts professor to be out and about this early in the morning.
“I didn’t mean to—”
“You didn’t.” He smiled.
