Just after his eleventh birthday, Sam Winchester received a letter dropped off by an owl of all things. Dean Winchester knew two things: First, their dad would absolutely kill a wizard, even if he was family, and second, this Ilvermorny place was not far enough away from their father by any stretch of the imagination.
Harry Potter chose a very important train compartment on his first ride to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was a small boy sitting alone in the compartment reading, and this boy had on his person three knives and a bottle of holy water. Harry Potter had found his people.
Severus Snape thought he must be extremely unlucky to be the only faculty member at the school who had a muggle landline phone at his summer residence…unlucky, but also so very thankful. Because after countless shocking, concerning, and frankly bizarre calls from one of his students’ guardians each summer, a Dean Winchester, well, Severus’s life was taking on a completely new and welcome direction.

Not that he missed the part of his soul that he had shared with Voldemort - it was more like missing the part of his soul that could have been there instead. That part had never truly existed. Not since he could remember, anyways. That part of his soul died that night at Godrics Hollow, together with his parents and any chance at a childhood, and had been buried together with the resurrection stone and the ghosts of his past.

After defeating Voldemort, Harry thought things would get better or at least a semblance of normal. But on his 18th birthday, he presents as an omega! And then someone goes through his medical records and fucking publishes(!!) them. Newspapers and tabloids speculate about his body: they wonder why he's not an alpha, debate if he will break up with Ginny, and then go after people close to him with absolutely no regard or respect for his well-being, even after everything he has been through. Harry is hurt and frustrated, so decides to get the hell out. He finds a cute muggle town in Pennsylvania with a big empty house on the edge of a forest in need of some love and occupants. With Sirius and Remus' help, Harry moves into his new home and starts a new life for himself. He's not alone for long, however, as friends and non-friends keep finding their way onto his front porch (and into his heart).
Or, omega Harry Potter builds friendships and falls in love in the Philadelphia suburbs, far away from everything he's known with the people he's known the longest.
