Margo was walking down the streets of Los Angeles while holding a script given to her by a mysterious woman with a weird pseudo-English accent. She had claimed that this was given to her by some big shot director who had seen a lot of potential in her, so she was excited to go back to her apartment to read what had been given to her.
A look into Margo Hanson's first year at Brakebills. Learning magic, making friends, you know all of that stuff.
Most of this is based off of things from the show, but I do take a little inspiration from the books every now and again.

Eliot stumbled backward triumphantly, the key fully wrapped in his hand.
“You need a break, Q–”
Wow. You really need a reason for him to resent you more, huh?
He whipped his head to stare at the thing standing at the foot of the bed. Eliot heard Quentin whisper expletives under his breath. He managed to get out of bed and reach for the key again, only for the taller man to pull it away again.
“Eliot, give me the key.”
“No, Q,” he swallowed and turned back to stare at Quentin, trying to ignore the dread buzzing in his throat. He wanted to apologize. “You need a break, I’ll be fine. It’s okay.”
He needs a break from you–you’re the one tethering him to this suffering.
Eliot blinked hard, hating the resonance of the voice in his head. His voice. The thing with his face and hair and eyes. He put the cord attached to the key on like a necklace, letting it hang under his shirt with the other.A re-imagining of "Do You Like Teeth?" in which Eliot accompanies Quentin on his quest to the Abyss.

After the events at Blackspire, Quentin and Eliot settle down together in Manhattan, eventually joined by most of their friends. No external crises on the horizon (or are there...?), no longer in school; they're left with a lot of money and time to explore who they are, what they want, and what they still need to work through--both as a couple and individually.
Along the way: travel, fine dining and wining, kink, friendship, parties, hedonism, friction, self discovery, a mystery or two, and--of course--magic.
This work continues the series For Want of a Nail, an AU serial novel where the Library doesn't succeed in siphoning off magic, and every major character escapes from Blackspire intact. (Including the Monster, but never mind that right now...)
Chapter one picks up a few weeks after Quentin and Eliot's return to New York from New Jersey in Familiarity.
