There was a beat, and then Gansey asked what he’d been dying to since Ronan had uttered Adam’s name. “Did he.. Say anything.. About me?”
Ronan shot him a look which was far too knowing for Gansey’s taste. “Not at first. Not until I mentioned you were here.”
The betrayal he was feeling must have been written on his face, because Ronan crossed his arms. “If you wanted me to tell him something else, you should have told me.”
“You wouldn’t have lied to him.”
Ronan shrugged. “Probably not, but I could have not picked up his call.”
“That would be cruel of you considering the fright you gave all of us last fall.”
“Tsk, there’s just no winning with you.”
“So, what did he say?”
“Now you want me to reveal Parrish’s private confidence?”
“Can I just say I find it ludicrous that you still call your ex boyfriend by his last name?”
“You call him by it sometimes too.”

"It was 10am. Adam had a specific routine for each day of the week at Harvard, and Fridays were particularly taxing days to him. Not because of his classes. He only had one today; a lecture on microeconomics. He would have preferred it to be later in the day rather than at 9am, but it was a fine class. And now that it was over he faced something much worse… socializing with his friends. He was aware that for a normal college student, this would be something to look forward to. That he should be happy that it was the weekend. But he’d never had a normal relationship with school. Growing up, it hadn’t been pleasant, but it had been a welcome reprieve from his life at home. And then he went to Aglionby, and at the beginning it’d been awful, but then he’d met Gansey and Ronan. Suddenly he had things to look forward to, in school and out of school. He got to spend time with Gansey… but his friends now were not Gansey. They also were not Ronan, or Blue. "

He keeps remembering the chafe of Ronan’s shoulder against his ribs as they got oriented in his little bed, the glisten of tears and nightwash wringing his lovely eyes, the lonely twist in his unguarded late-night voice over the phone, the one that Adam had almost liked, because it meant that he was indisputably missed. It was worse, that Ronan had been trying so hard for Adam, because it was easier to tell when he stopped.
Adam's perspective throughout Mister Impossible, as his worry reaches a fever pitch, and the two versions of himself begin to converge.
