Family is a commodity, one that not everyone has. Sure, every person has parents and relatives, maybe even some siblings, but not everyone has FAMILY. Not everyone had those they trusted with their very lives and secrets that would be taken to graves, not everyone had those they would drop everything for and who would drop everything for them.
Most people have those they would die for, those they would always be there for even in the worst moments life has to offer. But not everyone has people who they would live for, people who they would protect with every inch of their being. Not everyone has people who, even in the worst moments of knowing each other, would matter more to you than anything else in the world ever could.
That is what makes family. The people that you will always worry about, people that you will never truly give up in your hearts, people that you give parts of yourself to that no one else will ever even know of to. Those who will give you just as much as you give them, those are who your family are.
Like mushrooms, a family will always grow and bloom.

Izuku reread the definition a few times.
It wasn't as though Izuku had never heard of vigilantes. He even had notes on a few interesting ones. He knew illegal quirk use was probably a big factor in it being, well, illegal. He just hadn't realized quirk use was what made somebody a vigilante. It was sort of odd. He expected the definition to be more… inclusive, he supposed. What if somebody just didn't use their quirk? It couldn't apply to mutations unless they had emitter or transformation qualities, right? It couldn't apply to-
It couldn't apply to him.
He couldn't be a vigilante.
They couldn't arrest him for being one.
Or:
Midoriya Izuku ends up becoming a vigilante. Featuring Eraserdad, a very tired Tsukauchi, and Mic being the sanest adult here.

Izuku hesitated, his eyes wide and fingers digging into the plush fur of his rabbit. “I… I don’t know,” he admitted in a whisper.
The man studied him for a moment, taking in his disheveled state, before nodding slowly. “Got a place to stay?”
Izuku thought of home, his stomach twisting. He shook his head, the tears threatening to spill over again.
The man sighed and extended a calloused hand. “Well, I’ve got an extra bed at my place, you’re welcome to stay over if you’d like.”
Izuku stared at the hand. He wasn't supposed to talk to strangers, let alone follow them home, but where else would he go? He thought of the rat he'd seen scuttling about earlier, and after a long moment, he reached out, letting the man take his small hand in his own.
“Okay,” Izuku said.Alternatively, AU where Izuku grows up in the red light district.
I would like to clarify that the Izuku/OC tag is loosely defined, and the main relationship of the fic later becomes Shinso/Izuku -

Being called to Mori-sans office wasn't unusual, in fact I had practically memorized the smell of the bosses office. It had always reminded me of a hospital, the type where children cry and the lights seem to cause migraines. I didn't have to knock, didn't even have to open the door.
