Wayne's breath caught in his throat. He killed them. Eddie was telling him this like he would understand, tears streaming down his face, like Eddie needed help, like it was real–
"It was just a dream, Bubba, you're okay, it was just a dream." Wayne tried his best to not sound afraid, but Eddie simply shook his head, letting out a harsh sob. Wayne held him close, eventually getting into bed with Eddie and rubbing his back as he muttered about Him, and the dead children in the rainbow room, and the monster in the red storm.

Nancy’s lips twist but she yanks it out of his hand, guzzling the entire bottle. He guides her in with a hand tucked into the crook of her elbow and she lets him, carefully setting the empty bottle onto the wobbly kitchen table.
Her eyes rake over him, a little wild but mostly just clinical. “Those are Steve’s shorts.”
If Eddie can’t breathe very well at the sound of Steve’s name, that’s no one’s business but his own.
“Are they?” He drawls, peering down at them like he doesn’t know exactly who the soft, worn-thin fabric belongs to. Like it isn’t why he chose them. “Huh. Would you look at that.”

Largely angst and fairly macabre, but will probably have some romance later on.

(Well for his future house where ever that may be but for now wants the road to take him away.) Yet next thing he knows everything goes black.

He also didn't expect to fall in love with Steve, the engaged bartender, but then again nothing in Eddie's life has ever been easy.
TLDR: A Burlesque inspired Au because that film is a national treasure and is a common rewatch for me. Also like Eddie just fits the character of Ali so well. meaning, I had to write him and everyone else in. Anyways, enjoy.

When Eddie died he thought that would be the end. He hadn’t run away this time, Dustin was safe and Eddie could finally rest. However, waking up bloody, torn and alone was not what Eddie would call a good time.
Meeting the literal, invisible manifestation of the Upside Down was also something Eddie could have done without. But to be given the chance to help his friends from the very beginning? Now that was something that Eddie could get behind.
It’s too bad that Eddie wasn’t given the full story of what occurred in 1983, 1984, 1985. That would have probably prevented him from becoming The Party’s Future Cryptid.
A being who somehow always shows up just when needed. No matter what the year. But he can't stay. Eddie isn't human anymore and as such no longer belongs to either world.
It doesn't help that the Upside Down likes to fling him through Time like a sling shot.
