Hank Anderson, fifty-three old man a depressed alcoholic old man with bad-temper and fucked up life, everything collapse in his life one night leaving him with nothing but misery, he struggles to find a purpose to live, until he finally caves in and approve to his long best friend suggestions about moving out to Ann Arbor for fresh start.
Hank goes to his first day of work at the psychiatric hospital running under Fowler's directing, oblivious to the fact that he's about to meet the person who's going to shift his life upsidedown and force his way in there to become the center of Hank's whole life without an irrational reason.
AU: In which Hank is a psychiatrist who starts working at new psychiatric hospital and there he meets Connor, a guy who's going to fuck up with Hank's whole idea of life and fate.

Looking up to the sound of what he guessed had to be Nines then coming out of the hallway he sat up a bit straighter, vividly aware of what he looked like.
“Hi.” Nines stood with a hand lightly grabbing onto the wall as he looked Gavin up and down taking in his probably wrecked appearance, hair standing weirdly and clothes wrinkled as he sat on the floor still.
“Uh,” Gavin cleared his throat when it didn’t work for a moment, trying not to feel too embarrassed, “Hey, when’d you get up?”
“Not long before you don’t worry, Princess was chewing on my hair, she looked hungry.” Nines was still in his clothes from the day before, somehow less messed up than Gavin was, hair smoothed back a bit but still skewed.
“Oh my god, that fuckin’ cat.” Gavin groaned and turned his head to the side a bit to fall into the couch cushions, only Princess would make him seem like he didn’t feed her, “You didn’t have to, she gets whiny in the morning, sorry ‘bout that.”

Gavin is not paying attention to him. He's looking over at Connor with a frown on his face, leaning back into his chair with his feet kicked up onto the desk in front of him. Nines frowns. Looks over at Connor and understands why immediatly. Nines is now, also, paying attention to Connor rather than work.
It's almost funny- the way Connor retreats back into the Zen Garden while frustrated only to destroy it. Nines didn't mind it actually.
