Martin yelped in surprise and turned to whatever made that noise. He expected the worst: a bird that could have rows of teeth on its beak, or one that is deceptively small but has the ability to tear him to pieces, or maybe—
And he's looking at a really colorful bird. He blinked, and the bird let out a caw again. It didn't look like any birds Martin has ever seen. It sported many vivid colors, and its appearance reminded Martin of a toucan; with bright orange feathers on its chest that's complimented with blue-green across its body that ends with a green color on its secondary feathers, and a chameleon-looking tail with tail feathers. Its beak is red with a black tip at the end and a small crest on the top.
It reminded Martin of those Birds-of-paradise, but he highly doubts there's one that looks like a mix of a chameleon, parrot, and toucan. "Well, you probably wouldn't have found a man with a knife sticking out of his chest around here?" After a moment of silence, the bird just let out a chirp before eventually flying off.
Martin let out a sigh, "figures."

Navia looked confused before her eyes widened. "Oh, right! Well, you're in Fontaine, the Nation of Hydro and Justice in Teyvat!" She exclaimed, extending out her hands in a grand manner.
"…Doesn't that mean fountain in French?" Jon randomly said which made Navia look at him in confusion. Martin gently elbowed his side which made Jon realize as he realized what he said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"
Navia waved him off, "its fine, its fine! I don't know what "French" is but it does mean fountain in Fontainian." She explained to which Martin and Jon nodded.
So maybe Fontainian is the equivalent of the being French here, good to know.

Jon and Martin end up Somewhere Else. The "Somewhere Else" in question just so happened to be Fontaine. -

Martin woke up Somewhere Else, 2048, thirty years after the Eye-Pocalypse.
Alone.
During the next two weeks he recovers somewhat in the hospital and is re-united with Georgie, Melanie, and Basira who are all thirty years older. He struggles to bring himself to check out the ruins of the Panopticon which have been turned into a museum so he can get some closure over his loss of Jon. When he finally gets there he yells at Jon's memory and tries to kill himself since he simply cannot take it, inadvertently breaking a hole in the Panopticon ruins. A week later when Martin's once again trying to leave this mortal coil he has an unexpected meeting with a certain eye-covered being. -
