“W-wait-” Sonic tried to speak, but his voice failed him.
The figure didn’t.
A hand braced the back of Sonic’s head. The other pressed the bleeding wrist to his mouth, firm and unyielding. Instinct flared too late. Warm liquid flooded past Sonic’s lips, metallic and sharp, forcing his mouth open as he gasped.
The effect was immediate.
Heat tore through him, violent and sudden, ripping away the numbness. Power surged through his veins like electricity, lighting him up from the inside out. His back arched reflexively, fingers curling tight as his body reacted on pure instinct. The pain receded, replaced by something overwhelming, too much, too fast.
Sonic’s eyes rolled back.
The stars blurred.
And the world went dark again.
