But the silence that day...
The silence that filled the air that day was harder than the fight itself.
If he thinks about it hard enough he swears he still can see Johnny breathing. Maybe just the slightest rise and fall of his chest, barely there, and barely visible to anyone but someone insane enough to pay that much attention. He thinks he can still feel Johnny's pulse. Faint, light, a flutter, but a hint of life.
And he wonders if they made the wrong call. He dreams about it. Nightmares of Johnny being buried alive. Johnny being cremated while still fighting to stay alive. He knows it's not sensible. Knows that no one survives that much blood loss, or the injuries Johnny sustained, and if they did, he knows they'd never be the same. But the 'what if' is always stronger than rationality.

Being forced to live through a near consistiant death-loop was not what John ‘Soap’ MacTavish imagined he’d be doing if he committed arson and killed 4 people. If he knew his punishment he might not have set the fire, the murders were a seprate issue.
After being ripped from the cold, familiar hands of death herself by whatever God had created this place. Instead of sitting in an empty submarine, there were 3 other inmates.
‘Oh goodie new people to watch die’ was his first thought.
‘Fuck’ was his second.

Sabrina "Delta" Blackwell is a dom with a very rare (and aggressive) subclass. Her unit hates her for her subclass so she gets transferred... all the way to a lone special forces unit in Britain.

He was stretched out, one arm under his head and the other resting on his stomach while his legs took the rest of the old couch. He sighed and closed his eyes again, refusing to let himself stay awake and listen to what felt like his heart being torn to pieces. Again.

Kyle sticking frozen spoons to the pale boy's sunburnt skin. They were soft, awkward, naively joyful memories. Soccer and that girl in Kyle's English class who was always sitting alone, with headphones in and eyes fighting sleep, were something Kyle was interested in. Something he wanted. God knew he could get it, with that smile and the faint hairs on his upper lip that his mum told him were dirty. But those memories held onto him. Clawing into his heart and nestling into his soul. He can't let them go. Can't let Elijah go. Elijah is ready to let everything go. -

The world isn't kind to Omegas despite the way politicians claim to be introducing more progressive policies. It's still a fight tooth and nail to get anything done as an Omega without the approval of an Alpha or Beta. A caretaker. An independent Omega with a mistrust towards others. One bad day lands you in a rehabilitation retreat that leads to a kidnapping by a militant group intent on ransoming you back or selling you on the market. One escape attempt later and you're being forced into yet another situation out of your hands. But this Alpha doesn't seem too bad, nor do his packmates. So, you strike a deal. Let you stay with them under the pretense of courting until the courts decided you don't need to be rehabilitated, and they get better accommodations and pay. No strings attached.

The pet store on the corner of 14th and 1st had a name at one point in time. Probably wasn’t a very good one seeing as anyone and everyone just calls it 141 now. The store itself has remained the same for a decade (aside from, perhaps, the name). It’s jointly owned by a man named John Price and much like his store, everyone seemed to disregard that fact and called him Captain instead. As a retired army man he couldn’t exactly see the harm in it (he did spend a significant number of years answering to that title after all). The other owner didn’t spend much time on the floor- fewer people knew her and those that did gave her the respect of her actual name- Kate Laswell.
Price has hired on quite a few misfits over the years, most of them didn’t stick, three of them did.
