Dazai Osamu, former Demon Prodigy of the Port Mafia, finds himself sick in Meursault prison. After being detained by Chuuya Nakahara of the Hunting Dogs four years ago, he's since been unable to escape his unfortunate situation- constantly being hindered by Chuuya's meddling. For once, he's causing problems unrelated to escaping, and as usual, it ends up being Chuuya's problem.
But between the two of them, it isn't a simple dynamic between guard and prisoner. Things aren't as they seem.

Summary
Of course Dazai had false bottoms to his drawers even in his own godsdamned space. Chuuya tossed the shirts back out and felt along the edges of the drawer’s bottom. He was probably hiding more knives or rope or something. Drugs? It was probably drugs, gods knew Dazai wasn’t above an overdose. He’d pour whatever poison was in there down Dazai’s throat himself if that’s what he found.
But it wasn’t. When Chuuya finally leveraged out the board, he didn’t find knives or drugs or vials of mystery liquids.
Books. It was- it was just books, with a caved-in shoebox off in one corner.
Chuuya swallowed and was tempted, for a moment, to put the board back in and pretend he wasn’t rooting through Dazai’s personal book collection, but stopped before he could. Would Dazai ever be so respectful of Chuuya’s personal property? Absolutely not. There wasn’t any reason why Chuuya shouldn’t be just as nosy and inconsiderate.
They were all fairy tales, he realized after picking up one of the worn-out books, so old that the spine started peeling when he held it at a certain angle.
