“Stop.” Huffing a little, “Shit, what do you want from me?”
He’d killed everyone else; every single person Kaz had gone into that damned fight with was little more than afterthought corpse, but he lived. Each painful inhale and dark blue, feral glance stark reminder to that fact.
But the question seems to have given the man pause-man-no.
He has a name; he’d told it to him before he passed out.
Snake-much that was a name as any. It rattled around Kaz’s skull. Who called themselves such a thing?
“Good a name as any, for a soldier.” Being the only answer he’d gotten. Incapable of arguing the point.
He has no better response now, some day or whatever it is later.
“What?” Kaz sneers into the silence, “Didn’t think that far ahead..?”
The grip on him tightens, forcing a small whimper for how bad it burns his aching, damaged ribs. “Back to sleep, Kaz.” Arm slithering around his neck, and Kaz has no recourse to fight, too damned tired to try.

She wrenches the dial away from 666. She doesn't want to hear any more of this lunatic. Surely somebody else has managed to get on air? It can't be all him—
The dial twists by itself under her fingers. She gasps, jerking back. The radio gibbers madly as it flips through stations. It's as though the radio is speaking tongues—or possessed by a demon.
The dial settles back on 666. "I said, don't touch that dial."

Summary
In January 1987, Kaitou 1412 made his dramatic return after an eight year hiatus. Conviently at the same time, sixteen year old Kuroba Kaito starts to pull away from the few friends he does have. Three decades later, 1412 is known as a phantom, a killer, and a violent creature, and Kaito is a reclusive fifty two year old battling depression and his own self, a lonely bar owner with a distant gaze and an even more narrow world view.
Shinichi gets shrunk in late Spring of 2022, and finds a reluctant ally in his father's cousin. Posing as Kaito's son as Conan brings troubles and solutions that he could have never acquired than if he had stayed with the Mouris. Maybe they can both help each other.
