    “However, the upcoming operation could very well determine the entire course of the war.” Windu continues, tone heavy with gravity. “Tell me, Obi-Wan, can you assure me - with absolute certainty - that if Skywalker is injured, you will not act … unwisely?”

    “More important is,” Master Yoda adds, his ears lifting ever slightly, “if hurt, you are, Skywalker’s behaviour, remain wise, will it, hmm?”

    On the eve of a major battle, the Jedi Council orders Master Kenobi to cut the lingering training bond with his former padawan.

    “I can't watch any more.” Obi-Wan mutters under his breath, trembling fingers reach for the console. He knows what is coming and he knows he can't hear it, if he hears it–

    He's too slow.

    “Yes, my Master.” Anakin's hologram says and Obi-Wan's pain ignites into rage.

    In the ruins of the Jedi Temple, Obi-Wan finds the security recordings and discovers the truth. All of it. That Anakin didn’t Fall to anger or for power, but onto his knees in fear and exhaustion, begging for Padme's life.

    Having witnessed Sidious twist Anakin’s love into a weapon, Obi-Wan abandons the only path he's ever known, choosing to save Anakin. Not for the Jedi, not for the Republic, not even for the galaxy.

    But for himself.

    To reclaim Anakin, Obi-Wan surrenders to the Will of the Force, stepping into the ashes of everything he once believed in and discovering his own destiny in the wake of Anakin's.

    What begins in righteous fury becomes more as Obi-Wan helps Anakin raise his children, wrestles with the past, and carves a bloody new path. If all else must burn so that Anakin never has to, so be it.

    They will become something the galaxy has never seen before.

      Sidious had practically followed the Jedi Code more literally and perfectly than anyone could even dream of.

      The man felt no emotion, and no passion, chasing knowledge of Immortality single-mindedly, not a scrap of doubt or internal conflict, no chaos, his entire being in harmony for his one pursuit in life. The man bore no ignorance of how much suffering he wrought and could cause pain with perfect unaffected serenity and his ultimate goal was no death but eternal life via the Force.

      Not to mention, Sidious had no attachments, not a single thing or person that he valued more than another. Everything was equally disposable in his eyes. Obi-Wan wants to laugh at the bitter irony. That had he succeeded in following the Code as closely as he'd thought he should, it would have turned him into a monster.

    “Grandmaster Yoda,” Obi-Wan acknowledged, tearing his eyes away from Anakin. His eyes were expectant as he prompted, “You have something to say, do you not?”

    Yoda closed his eyes. He breathed deeply, centering himself, before he looked back at Obi-Wan. “Return Anakin Skywalker to your care, I do. Relinquished by the Order, he has been. Our blessings upon this union, you both have.”

    Obi-Wan fell after Qui-Gon's death and was expelled from the Order. Left to his own devices, Obi-Wan ended up killing Palpatine, seizing control of the Republic, and crowning himself Emperor. Meanwhile, the Jedi are losing the war, the public's trust, and potentially the Order itself. Obi-Wan offers a peaceful resolution, a way to bring peace to the galaxy and balance to the Force. He offers a marriage, between a Sith and a Jedi, between himself and another. And the only Jedi he'll accept is Anakin.
