As Vecna's plan to corrupt Hawkins reaches its endgame, Will Byers finds himself at the centre of the corruption, both in heart and mind. Bound to the Upside Down and to Vecna himself, Will is forced to confront the severe cost of repression, survival and love, no matter how painful it may be.
Central to this is Mike Wheeler, who is tortured by his own repression, both internally and externally. He refuses to let his fear or silence take control of his and Will's story, even as the dangerous truth threatens to shatter their world.
The Core Four are central to the story; Eleven embraces her emotional maturity and becomes shaped by loss rather then raw power and the Upside Down becomes increasingly invasive as the story progresses.
This is a story about choosing the truth over the safety of lies, sacrifice without the glory and what it means to actually survive.

The team are headed into the upside down for the final battle and almost everything has been said. Some of the characters write letters in case something happens to them, much like max did in season 4. This work is Mikes letter to Will in case something happens to him, in case he never gets to tell him how he feels... the keys to his mind, his heart and his soul... and all the secrets he has kept. This is a letter that will feature in a future fic that I'm still working on and will be referenced but not included in full. This is my first work I'm sharing so please give me feedback!
The main fic will be called "I lost him before I even knew he was mine" based from S5E5-Final and beyond - Mike finding out Will liked him, and he liked him back when he was 'over' him, it will feature pre epilogue mike trying to flirt with will and post epilogue Mike not knowing how to tell him. This letter is one of several he wrote to will but never gave him. it sits in a box next to the binder of Wills drawings until mike can be brave enough to give it to him... will he be?Series
