Summary
Damian Wayne hated the number seventeen.
It was truly a horrid number. It wasn't a prime, you couldn't divide it evenly by anything, except one and itself, and the closest you could get to splitting it evenly was eight and nine, which were amazing numbers, and some how the fact that two amazing things made such a horrid abomination hit a little to close to home.
The number was all around bad luck, and probably had to do with why his life was currently so horrible.
Case in point, he was being yelled at for something he literally didn't do.

Or: Damian Wayne is sick of it all. His father is constantly yelling at him, his brothers are constantly berating him, the kids at school are racists pieces of shit, and he hates the number seventeen.

What if Jason actually stayed as competent as he was in Lost Days and Under the Hood, and actually reacted to his (ex-)dad slicing his neck open?
What if Bruce actually got taken to task (eventually) for being abusive?
What if people actually decided to talk to each other, and listened to what the other person was saying?But really, it's: what if Jason had a support system; and what if Jason had someone tell him that violence is not how you solve all societal problems.
(And what if I decided that the narrative would be on Jason's side as much as DC's narrative is on Batman's)

Tim jumped on the chair and rolled toward the desk. This will make his search so much easier! Maybe he could find a map of the building or any information about where his brothers were. He hoped they were actually there with him… If their captors had separated them, it would make it more difficult. Not impossible, of course. His white skin was almost shining blue under the lights of the many screens as Tim’s fingers danced on the keyboard.
Quickly, he found a security camera program and clicked on it. All twelve computer screens froze before coming back to life. And, Tim’s eyes widened in front of the scenes shown to him: Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin. All three were there being—Or: Tim wakes up alone in a cell after a mission turned sour, escapes, and finds his three brothers in delicate situations... and instead of saving them, he decides to watch the show and gets to see his wildest fantasies in 4K.

He saw a warm, bright, blinding ray of light. The Sun. And he wasn’t cold anymore.
Grayson was never Red X. Red X was evil. Red X was miserable. Red X was shame. Red X needed to be forgotten.And when he first found out, something in him twisted. And he couldn’t stop looking at the suit at it’s display. It was like he saw a miracle. A mirror. He saw something familiar. Evil. Miserable. Mistake. Forget. Shame.
Damian was a failure. Damian was a shame to his family. Damian was a bloodthirsty evil murderer.Damian was Red X.
And so he ran. Away from his family. Away from Gotham. Anywhere, just to rid them of this misery. Somewhere, anywhere, where it won’t be that cold. Where he could be hidden and forgotten forever. And he ran, ran, ran, ran. Ran, until someone started chasing him. And if he’ll stop running, his heart will stop with him.
He doesn’t see himself fall to the ground, but he feels it coming and sees no point in fighting anymore. He doesn’t hear footsteps but he sees the man approaching him. All he can think about is his ugly ironic laughter when he saw his nemesis’ face under the familiar mask. All he can hear is crazy laughter and he wonders if that’s how Jason felt in his final moments. He can’t feel the katana going right through his heart but he can see red. And he wonders, just for a moment, if things would be different if he just listened to Dick.
And Damian’s so, so, so cold.
When Tim Drake finds his little brother after years of search, he’s murdered and wearing a dead man’s mask. And it’s all their fault.

“Hey,” he greeted slowly, only the kid didn’t respond. Hood didn’t feel like wasting his precious time on teenage supervillains. This night is getting too long, he decided in annoyance.
“No one missed you, you know. You can go back to hell or whatever.” He hissed out, and unexpectedly Red X flinched, but still said nothing.
